Pop-ups: think, read again, then accept

Take note!

We understand in a world of relentless popups, email overload, and crazy-fast technological advancements it's hard to wheedle out the good from the bad and know what is safe to explore and what you need to avoid like the plague.

If you've clicked a button or accidentally made your system vulnerable, time is of the essence. Let us know so we can make moves to counteract those pesky hackers. Better than that, there is a handy step you can introduce into your routine to add an extra barrier of protection for your system.

As a company of tech experts, we widely recommend Multi-Factor Authentication to give you an extra layer of crucial protection. Typically with MFA, you'll receive a pop-up through to your phone asking you to confirm you are happy with providing access on another device that you are signing into. It's a great security measure that we recommend to all of our customers.

It's important to recognise that this pop-up is expected as you have triggered this step, it will look familiar as you have seen this pop-up before and will know the branding and look of the app, so, therefore, makes sense to accept.

Think, read again, and then accept

However, random pop-ups may catch you off guard and if you are not expecting to receive a pop-up then please do not click it and treat with caution. We are urging you to think, read again and accept if you feel it is a safe and expected message.

If you are still unsure, simply screenshot the pop-up and send it our way to ask us for reassurance and approval. We would much rather have an email from you checking the nature of a pop-up than dealing with a breach of security and an attack on your system. The impact of the latter can be devastating so let's follow that age-old saying better safe than sorry.

Any questions, drop us a line!
